Poker Traits bridges the world of professional psychology and poker strategy. Founded by Dr. Aaron Friedman, a licensed PhD psychologist specializing in executive assessment and consulting psychology, Poker Traits applies scientifically-validated psychological principles to the poker table.
While most poker training focuses on mathematics and game theory, Poker Traits addresses the critical psychological dimensions that separate good players from great ones. Each concept we explore is grounded in established psychological research and translated into practical poker applications.
We examine how cognitive biases affect decision-making, how social dynamics influence table interactions, and how personality traits shape your natural playing style.
Read yourself, then the room.
Understanding your own psychological tendencies is the foundation for accurately reading opponents and making optimal decisions. By understanding researched-based psychological concepts, you'll develop awareness and strategies that many players never consider.
Poker Traits provides educational content about psychological concepts and their application to poker. This content does not constitute psychological services, therapy, or clinical assessment. Information presented is for educational purposes only. If you have mental health concerns, please contact a licensed provider in your area.
